- 8 meatless, fat-free franks (1 1/2 ounces each)
- 4 slices (1 ounce each) low-fat, Cheddar flavor soy cheese slices, each cut into 4 strips
- 1 package (11.5 ounces) refrigerated cornbread twist dough (such as Pillsbury; contains 16 strips of dough to make 8 twists)
Preheat oven to 400° F. Using a knife, carefully make a slit along the length of each frank, cutting about 3/4 of the way through. Stuff each slit with 2 strips of cheese. Flatten each strip of cornbread dough with fingers. Leaving the end of each frank showing, wrap one strip of dough around half the length of each frank. Wrap a second strip of dough around the rest of the length, leaving the other end showing. Place on a baking sheet and bake until golden, about 10 minutes.
Yield: 8 franks. Serving size: 1 frank.
