If you’re 18–30 years of age and living with Type 1 diabetes, you may be interested in the 2017 Students With Diabetes/Young Adults With Diabetes National Conference and Leadership Academy in Orlando, Florida, hosted by the Diabetes Empowerment Foundation.
The Diabetes Empowerment Foundation seeks to “empower people living with diabetes to live positive, productive, limitless lives.” To that end, the organization is holding its seventh annual conference to introduce young adults with Type 1 and their partners to innovative diabetes research, new treatments, and information about living with diabetes during this stage of life.
The conference will feature keynote speeches from diabetes experts, break-out sessions on various diabetes-related topics, group activities, and a Leadership Academy on professional skill-building and succeeding in a diabetes career, along with a career fair.
The event will be taking place at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld from May 26–28, 2017. Tickets are $99.00 (plus a $6.44 fee) through March 1, 2017, and $125.00 (plus a $7.87 fee) through May 3, 2017. Tickets to the Leadership Academy are $30.00 (plus a $2.64 fee).
