If you are a high school senior with Type 1 diabetes who is looking to attend an accredited four-year university, college, or technical or trade school in the fall, then you’ll want to learn more about the variety of college scholarships currently being offered by the Diabetes Scholars Foundation.

The Diabetes Scholars Foundation is a tax-exempt organization committed to supporting educational activities for and about children with diabetes. The Foundation has provided more than 250 scholarships for children and their families to attend the annual Children With Diabetes “Friends for Life Conference” and has also funded over $700,000 worth of college scholarships for children with Type 1 diabetes.

More than 40 scholarships between $1,000 and $5,000 are being offered to students based on a variety of qualifications, including pursing certain majors, living in certain states, or being a student athlete.

Complete information about the scholarships, including full eligibility requirements and details on the application and selection process, can be found on the Diabetes Scholars Foundation Web site. Applications should be submitted on this Web page and must be received by April 15, 2014.
