My LDL (“bad”) cholesterol level is 125 mg/dl. Should I be taking any steps to lower it?

Yes &mdash the American Diabetes Association recommends an LDL cholesterol level of less than 100 mg/dl in most people who have diabetes (but who do not have cardiovascular disease). Steps to lower LDL cholesterol include reducing your intake of saturated fat, trans fat, and cholesterol, losing weight (if necessary), and increasing the amount of physical activity you do.
