My doctor says I have high cholesterol. Do I absolutely have to take cholesterol drugs to lower it?

The American Diabetes Association recommends starting with diet and exercise changes if your LDL cholesterol level is over 100 mg/dl and adding drug therapy if it exceeds 130 mg/dl.
