I’m counting carbohydrates. How should I count fiber?

Opinions on this differ, but the advice of the American Diabetes Association is that if you are eating a food with more than 5 grams of dietary fiber per serving, you can subtract half the grams of “Dietary Fiber” from the grams of “Total Carbohydrate” before you calculate the number of carbohydrate choices in your meal.
