Spiced apple date oatmeal

Preparation time: 5 minutes.


  • 1 packet (1 ounce) plain instant oatmeal (look for a brand with no sodium)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped dried apple
  • 1 tablespoon chopped dates
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 1 dash nutmeg
  • NutraSweet to taste


Empty dry oatmeal into a cereal bowl and set aside. Place apple juice in a small saucepan and bring to a boil (or heat in microwave). Add apple juice, dried apple, dates, cinnamon, nutmeg, and NutraSweet to oatmeal and stir to combine. Let stand 1 minute. Serve right away.

Yield: 1 serving.
