What We’re Reading: Free Blood Pressure Screenings and More From Walgreens

Text Size:

Walgreens is investing $100 million over the next four years in preventative health resources for its “Take Care Clinics.” What does this mean for those with diabetes? Free health screenings and services coinciding with different awareness months.

Since February is American Heart Month, “Take Care Clinics” are currently offering free blood pressure tests for adults. In conjunction with organizations such as the American Diabetes Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, American Heart Association, and Susan G. Komen Search for the Cure, Walgreens pharmacies will also offer free blood glucose, A1C, and other health checks throughout the year, including free screenings during Diabetes Awareness Month (November), Women’s Health Month (May), and Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October).
