What We’re Reading: B4U Drive Mini-Camp

Text Size:

For many parents and adolescents, diabetes can be especially tough during the teenage years. The Juvenile Diabetes No Limits Foundation has created a program that will help teens learn to better manage their diabetes while also learning advanced driving techniques, helping families keep their teens safer on the road. This free, one-day program will take place at six locations throughout the United States in 2011. Registration is limited to 15 teens aged 15–19 with driver’s licenses or permits per day so that no program session gets too crowded. Topics covered include hard stopping, accident avoidance, the dangers of distractions while on the road, and a round-table discussion with a certified diabetes educator.

To register, donate, or even volunteer for this program, you can visit www.jdnolimits.org/home.html. You can also read stories and see photos from last year’s events.
