JDRF 2015 Children’s Congress

Text Size:

Every two years, over 150 children living with Type 1 diabetes have the opportunity to gather in Washington, DC, to share with members of Congress what it’s like to live with the condition and highlight the importance of funding diabetes research. According to the nonprofit diabetes agency JDRF, these children “speak up on behalf of the millions of people living with [Type 1 diabetes] and the families and friends who love them.”

The next JDRF Children’s Congress, as this gathering is known, will be taking place from July 13–15, 2015, and JDRF is currently accepting applications from children who wish to take part. Eligible candidates will range from age 4 to age 17 at the time of the event, and they (or their parents in the case of small children) must be willing to share their story of life with Type 1 diabetes.

Applications are due by 11:59 PM EST on December 1, with applicant decisions to be mailed by February 16, 2015.

To learn more about the event, visit the JDRF Children’s Congress website. And to submit an application, click here.
