If you’ve wanted to congratulate someone in your life who has diabetes for his success in managing the condition, or to thank family and friends for supporting you in a fundraising walk or ride, you’ll find what you’re looking for at Blue Cupcake.
Owned by Allison Blass, who has Type 1 diabetes, Blue Cupcake is an Etsy store selling diabetes-themed handmade greeting cards. The cards, which are printed by Erica Schoonmaker (who also has Type 1) are available in three styles: happy diaversary, with three inner message options; congratulations on your A1C/weight loss, with three inner message options; and thank you for supporting my walk/ride, which are blank. Each card incorporates the Blue Circle symbolizing diabetes awareness.
According to Blass, “Diabetes is so hard and such a thankless job that I wanted to give people an opportunity to show support and appreciation for a job well done, as well as give PWDs [people with diabetes] an opportunity to thank those who support them.”
A portion of proceeds go to four diabetes organizations: International Diabetes Federation’s Life for a Child, Diabetes Hands Foundation, Diabetes Research Institute, and JDRF. Proceeds of thank you cards will go directly to the organization that the cards are for.
During the month of November, cards are 14% off with the coupon code BANTING12.
