Earlier this week, continuous glucose monitor (CGM) manufacturer Dexcom announced a partnership with health insurer Cigna that will allow 15 million additional patients to access the Dexcom G6 receivers, transmitters and sensor packs from their local pharmacy. Distributing the device through pharmacies will turn what was once an eight-step, month-long process into a seamless four-step process that can be completed in just one or two days through a pharmacist.
