Create Your "T1D Footprint" With JDRF

National Diabetes Month may have you thinking about exactly how much space Type 1 diabetes, or T1D, takes in your life. From monitoring your blood sugar to injecting insulin to waking up in the middle of the night to deal with lows and other diabetes-related issues, the numbers can really add up. With JDRF’s new T1D footprint generator, you can get a better idea of just how much you’ve committed to managing your condition.

To use the tool, you just need to enter some basic information, including your name, date of diagnosis and whether you use a CGM or insulin pump. Using this data, the tool estimates how many days you’ve been living with Type 1 diabetes, how many hours of sleep you’ve lost to the condition, how many times you’ve pricked your finger to check your blood sugar, and how many times you’ve injected yourself with insulin. This infographic can be shared on social media to raise awareness of Type 1 diabetes and “help others understand how much room T1D takes up” in your life.
