Winter Diabetes Camp

If you have Type 1 diabetes and love the great outdoors, you’ll want to check out Winter Slipstream 2015, being hosted by the nonprofit Canadian diabetes education group Connected in Motion.

Founded in 2008 by people with Type 1 diabetes, Connected in Motion uses outdoor adventure activities to connect those who are living with the condition. As part of that mission, the group will be holding Winter Slipstream, “a weekend jam-packed full of winter adventure, engaging workshops, and incredible people,” from Friday, January 16, to Sunday, January 18, at Camp Kandalore in Algonquin Highlands, Ontario.

The event will focus on what people can do with Type 1 diabetes and will feature activities such as cross-country skiing, skating, high ropes, tubing, and rappelling.

Registration costs $325 CAD and is limited to 35 people. For more information on the event, and to sign up, visit the Connected in Motion website.
