Daily Value, as listed on Nutrition Facts labels: 400 IU (10 mcg)

*mcg=micrograms

American Academy of Pediatrics recommendation for breast-fed infants: 400 IU/day soon after birth until weaning

BLOOD LEVELS†
(Listed as 25-OH D or 25-vitamin D on a lab report)

Deficiency: 0—20 ng/ml (0—30 nmol/l)

Insufficiency: 21—30 ng/ml (51—75 nmol/l)

Sufficient: 30—100 ng/ml (76—249 nmol/l)

Toxicity: greater than 100 ng/ml (250 nmol/l)
