• The Arthritis Foundation offers exercise programs designed for people with arthritis. Class instructors undergo special Arthritis Foundation instructor training. Call your local chapter for a directory of exercise programs in your area. You can find the chapter office closest to you at www.arthritis.org/chaptermap.php.
• Community YMCAs and YWCAs employ experienced exercise instructors and trainers with the knowledge and skills to work with people who have diabetes and arthritis. Call your local Y to see what classes and services are offered in your area.
• Senior centers, community parks and recreation programs, and hospitals may offer movement classes specifically geared to older people and people with chronic conditions.
