Diabetes Self-Management Blog

Summer will be here before you know it, which means that now is the time to start thinking about diabetes camps for your child.

Diabetes camp provides children with a safe environment in which to enjoy the outdoors, meet friends and role models, learn new skills, and have fun. To help you choose a camp near you that’s right for your child, the organization Children With Diabetes has updated their list of camps in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and Peru.

The list is categorized by state or province, and includes a graphic indicating the date when information about the camp was most recently available. Where applicable, direct links to the camp Web sites are provided.

Have questions about how to choose a camp for your child with diabetes? Then be sure to read “Sending Your Kid to Camp,” by registered nurse Karen Riley.
