“The Game Plan”Web Team May 26, 2012 Have Type 2 diabetes? Like football? Then you may be interested in checking out “The Game Plan,” a new initiative created by the American College of Endocrinology with support from Merck. The program is composed of four “goal lines”: “Huddle,” “Get in the Nutrition Zone,” “Get in the Game,” and “Check the Scoreboard.” Each segment corresponds to taking action in a certain area of your diabetes care, such as adding more activity into your day, and each one comes with a list of steps to take as you progress toward your goal. The program is supported by a trio of “coaches”: Mike Golic, former NFL star and co-host of ESPN’s Mike & Mike in the Morning, who has Type 2 diabetes; clinical endocrinologist Farhad Zangeneh; and Samantha Heller, registered dietitian and exercise physiologist.
