Diabetes Self-Management Blog

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get a better handle on your diabetes control, then you’re in luck: The online education program “Type 1 University” will be offering free classes for the month of January.

Type 1 University is the brainchild of Gary Scheiner, a certified diabetes educator, exercise physiologist, and person with Type 1 diabetes. Live courses, which typically cost $29.95 per course, cover topics such as “Mastering Pump Therapy,” “Strike the Spike: After-Meal Glucose Control,” and “Blood Glucose Control During Sports & Exercise.” (Prerecorded lessons are $19.95 per course.) Classes are 45 to 60 minutes long, include a PDF of the slides used, and provide the opportunity to post questions to the instructor.

To learn more, and to register for classes, visit the Type 1 University Web site.
