DiabetesSisters Weekend for Women in Los Angeles

If you’re a woman who has diabetes, then you’ll want to check out the upcoming 2014 Weekend for Women in Los Angeles, California, organized by the nonprofit group DiabetesSisters.

Scheduled for October 24–25, the Weekend for Women conference aims to “educate, inspire, and transform women’s view of their diabetes so that they can live full, happy lives with the disease.” The weekend includes a variety of social and educational events, including designated time to meet and mingle with other conference attendees and breakout sessions on topics ranging from dealing with eating disorders to understanding how the Affordable Care Act affects women with diabetes. All women with diabetes — including prediabetes, Type 1, Type 2, LADA, and gestational diabetes — are welcome to attend, as are loved ones such as boyfriends, parents, and best friends.
