What We're Reading: Saving Money on Health Care

Web Team

The cost of health-care in America and access to insurance coverage are already major issues in this year's presidential campaign. But while politicians debate about how to address these issues, you may be wondering what you can do in the meantime to control your own health-care costs. If so, an article posted this week in the "Nursing Library" at RNCentral.com may be of interest to you.

The article, "50 Easy Tips to Lower Your Healthcare Expenses" by Laura Milligan, features a slew of creative ideas about how to save money on medical care. It includes tips on getting the most out of an insurance policy, steps people can take in their daily lives to prevent illness, resources to help people spend less on prescriptions, and links to help people find low-cost health-care clinics across the country.

You've probably seen some of these tips before, but there are others that are sure to be new to you. For more guidance on buying your own health insurance, getting help from social agencies, and saving money on food, check out the Money Matters page here at DiabetesSelfManagement.com. And if you have any tips that you'd like to share, feel free to leave a comment below.
