High school seniors with Type 1 diabetes who are U.S. citizens (or permanent residents) and who are planning to attend an accredited four-year university, college, or technical or trade school this fall, take note: Applications are now available online for the various college scholarships currently being offered by the Diabetes Scholars Foundation.
The Diabetes Scholars Foundation is a tax-exempt organization committed to supporting educational activities for and about children with diabetes. The Foundation has provided scholarships allowing nearly 3,000 people to attend the annual Children With Diabetes “Friends for Life Conference” and has also funded almost $900,000 worth of college scholarships for students with Type 1 diabetes.
Nearly 50 scholarships between $1,000 and $5,000 are being offered to students based on a variety of qualifications, including pursing certain majors, living in certain states, or being a student athlete.
Complete information about the scholarships, including full eligibility requirements and details on the application and selection process, can be found on the Diabetes Scholars Foundation website. Applications should be submitted here and must be received by April 15, 2015.
