Home HbA1c test

Product: Appraise Home A1c Kit
Manufacturer: Heritage Labs International LLC
(888) 764-2384
www.appraisetests.com
What it does: The Appraise Home A1c Kit allows users to check their HbA1c level from home, without a prescription. Your HbA1c level is an indicator of blood glucose control over the previous 2–3 months. The kit includes an alcohol pad, a gauze pad, a bandage, a return envelope, and a lancet to be used to collect a small blood sample from a fingertip. The sample is collected onto a piece of filter paper that absorbs the blood; the paper is then enclosed in the postage-paid mailer and sent to the Heritage Labs International laboratory in the Kansas City, Missouri, area for evaluation. Results are available in as little as three days and can be retrieved online at www.appraisetests.com or received by regular mail.
