Symptoms of Diabetes

The following are some common symptoms of diabetes. However, not all people with diabetes have symptoms before diagnosis. That is why regular screening for adults 45 and older and for anyone with risk factors for diabetes (such as being overweight and having a family history of diabetes) is so important.

  • Frequent urination
  • Dry mouth or extreme thirst
  • Hunger
  • Blurry vision
  • Fatigue
  • Numbness or tingling in the hands and feet
  • Decreased sexual function
  • Sores that have trouble healing
  • Weight loss
