The Big Blue Test Web site is open for entries!
We’ve previously written about the Big Blue Test, an event held by Diabetes Hands Foundation every November for American Diabetes Month to encourage people with diabetes to stay active and to bring life-saving supplies to people with diabetes in need.
Participants are asked to check their blood glucose level, exercise for 14 to 20 minutes, and then check their blood glucose level again, sharing the results online. People without diabetes can also contribute to the effort by getting active for the designated amount of time and noting their participation on the Big Blue Test home page. According to Manny Hernandez, President of Diabetes Hands Foundation, “Every single Big Blue Test result recorded online at www.BigBlueTest.org translates directly into grant funding for patient care. Our goal for 2012 is to have 20,000 test results recorded online.”
The grants are made possible by funding from Roche Diabetes Care, makers of Accu-Chek products and services.
