Fall is right around the corner, which means that flu season will soon be in full swing. For people with diabetes, getting this virus can lead to serious complications (such as pneumonia), so it is generally recommended that they receive a flu shot every year. And because it takes roughly two weeks for the vaccine to become effective, the ideal time to receive it is early September.

  1. Had my last flu shot in while stationed in South Korea in 1979. In 2007 I started using apple cider vinegar(acv). Not the distilled kind but the kind with the ‘mother’ still in it. I take a couple of teaspoons in the morning and again at night. I have gone whole winters/cold season without a cold. I also found that acv is a good gargle when the throat is sore. I can tell the difference in my body when I go without acv for a while. You don’t have to drink it straight as a lot of people think. Mix it with a little lemon juice and/or honey in a glass of water. When using honey, start with about 1/4 glass of warm water to get it to dissolve. Then put in the acv and/or lemon juice. This is my opinion and I’m sticking to it…
